Caitlin joined the Read Charlotte team in August 2024. Caitlin grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been in Charlotte for several years now. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University and a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language from UNC Charlotte. Prior to joining Read Charlotte, Caitlin spent six years as an English Learner Teacher, supporting K-5th grade multilingual students and increasing teachers’ capacity to support linguistic needs in two elementary schools.
She has always been drawn to picture books, especially as a teacher who sees the power of illustrations to enhance stories for language learners. Her love of reading began with her parents reading to her and her brothers at bedtime each night, growing into avid reading as an adult. Caitlin loves supporting her niece’s and nephew’s love of stories, and hopes to illustrate picture books one day. As a child, she loved the Berenstain Bears and Amelia Bedelia books because of the engaging characters and bright pictures.
