Kate Bradstreet joined Read Charlotte as Early Literacy Manager in July 2019 with over a decade of experience in the early childhood field. Most recently, she was Program Manager of Pre-k through 3rd Grade Alignment at the School District of Philadelphia in the Office of Early Childhood Education. At the School District of Philadelphia, she supported efforts around kindergarten transition, the annual week-long K-3 Early Literacy Institute for teachers, and reviewing data, among other things. Prior to that, she worked in Washington, DC for the National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC) in the Accreditation department, focusing on the reliability of the Accreditation system and visiting childcare centers across the country.
Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Grove City College, and a master’s degree in Special Education from The Ohio State University. A recent transplant to Charlotte, she is enjoying learning about her new home with her husband and their two wonderful little girls. Her favorite childhood book is Noisy Nora but she continues to enjoy so many more as she reads with her daughters!
