Listening comprehension is a critical yet often overlooked literacy skill. As part of our work to help increase the level and quality of efforts focused on building this important skill, we developed the Listening Comprehension Resource Center (LCRC), a first-of-its-kind website featuring curated listening comprehension resources for educators to use in classroom settings.
The LCRC fills an important gap by providing a comprehensive hub where educators can learn about listening comprehension and access practical tools for teaching and assessing these important skills. After 18 months of planning and development, Read Charlotte began working with MECK Pre-K educators for a first round of testing of the site. We plan to follow that with additional testing and then a wider launch in 2025.
